Congratulations to Jason Axe & Kelly Keogh

John and Val Clegg the former owners of Cubert’s highly popular fish & chip shop, which was until recently known as ‘Asalt & Battery’ have for a number of years kindly put up a trophy for the first local male and female of the Newquay Road Runners Cubert-5 mile road race. To qualify for this award, the area in which those competing needed to reside in is Holywell Bay, Cubert, Crantock, St Newlyn East and Goonhavern. There are some very talented athletes who live in this area, as the winners’ times clearly indicate. The men’s trophy this year was won by Cubert resident Jason Axe, who has won the trophy previously, his time of 32 minutes 50 seconds placed him 100th out of the 771 who managed to finish, the ladies winner for the second year in a row was West Pentire’s Kelly Keogh she placed 221st in a time of 36.46 was over a minute and a half faster than her winning time last year 38.19
